PHASE HEAD MESSAGE
A Greek philosopher, Heraclitus, said that the only constant in life is change. We are living in a world where we are teaching children for jobs that may not yet exist as we embrace the fourth industrial revolution and beyond. It is our job as educators to ensure that we equip children with the ability to survive in a world of uncertainty by encouraging them to think critically, be creative and motivating them to stay determined to achieve to the best of their abilities.
The FET Phase begins with the preparation of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) training in grade 10, and is unique because learners can choose subjects for the first time. The phase provides many opportunities to succeed in whichever field one choses. These opportunities include camps, olympiads and academic competitions and challenges which will add value to the curriculum. Extra-curricular activities also play an important role in the development of a child, thus involvement in such activities are encouraged.
I am looking forward to building a relationship with learners, parents and staff members based on honesty and respect. I am happy to be a part of the SBSM family, and I am committed to working every year towards excellent academic achievement.
