Our first blood drive was held on Saturday 01/02/2020. It was a nail biting experience. At 1 o’ clock we had collected only 26 pints. We had an influx of people in the last hour. Our target was 55 pints. Unfortunately we did not meet our target but we managed to collect 42 pints of blood. This means that we have saved 126 lives because 1 pint saves 3 lives.

Mentors were given slots in which they came and assisted. We had two members from the RCL who also volunteered to assist. The two of them as well as one other learner from grade eleven were our first time donors from SBSM.

We would like to thank parents, community members, alumni and our very own learners without whose support our Blood Drive would not be successful.
